- We decided we needed to apply a force.
- Someone else said add energy.
- Another idea was to either push or pull it.
- We thought that all these ideas was applying some pressure.
- Then we thought about rolling down a hill. That would be the energy or force of gravity.
We are going to make some ramps and roll our marbles and measure how far they roll. This is part of our unit on 'The Nature of Science' where we collect and analyse data. We will make some changes to the ramps we build and measure and analyse what effects that has on how far the marble will roll.
Being a scientist should be fun.
Kia ora Room 14. Kate Harland and M2 from Whangaparaoa School here. Your science inquiry this term sounds awesome. I like how you are using the scientific process to answer your curiosities. Did you take any photos of you playing with the marbles and showing how energy and force works. That would be good to see. We are studying Planet Earth and Beyond so some of our learning will overlap because we have been talking about gravity. Hopefully you will see some of that thinking on our class blog and my students blogs when you visit our blog this week :). Looking forward to great Term 3 learning. Ka kite
