Confidence Wearing Life Jackets

Every Monday, we go to the Papatoetoe Pools for swimming lessons. This week, we went into deep water with life jackets on. We had to trust the life jacket for buoyancy.

We did a variety of activities, including jumping off the side into the water, and holding onto others to help support them in the water.

We had a great time as our confidence grew. We all passed with flying colours...

  1. Kia ora Room 14,
Great to see you learning about how to feel safe wearing your life jacket. It is great to see your confidence grow jumping into the water and popping up so quickly with the lifejacket making you float. You are all doing really well at lying on your back, relaxing and kicking. Had any of you worn life jackets before?

It's important to learn how to swim and it's great how you can teach others what you have been taught. 8. It's really good to see the teaching of water safety to the young and that they get the important message that life jackets need to be tested.
